Valerie was born in Stratford, Ontario. She is retired after four years of military service followed by a career with the Correctional Service Canada working as a Programs Officer and Parole Officer. In her retirement she has returned to a love of art left behind in her teens to follow more practical paths.
She has been happily married since 1982 and is the mother of three and grandmother of three.
